Re: [pde-dev] Migration of pde.ui repo to GitHub is now complete

Thank you Vikas and all others for performing the migration and thanks Ed for adjusting the Setup, the button looks nice. :)

But I just noticed that there is no verification build executed when a Pull-Request is created in the pde.ui repo. Could this be because  in https://ci.eclipse.org/pde/ the pde.ui-Gerrit job still uses the Gerrit-Trigger?
I wonder if this job should be changed to be a Jenkins Multi-Branch Pipeline job just like pde.build or for example equinox or m2e.

Furthermore I noticed that most of the links in the README.md at g.c/eclipse-pde/eclipse.pde.ui are outdated or point to targets that should be updated, too.
If nobody else can/want to take care of this, I can try to do it next week.

Greetings,
Hannes

FYI,

I've updated the PDE setup accordingly and added a corresponding configuration.  I used the configuration in the following section that I added to the CONTRIBUTING.md:

  https://github.com/eclipse-pde/.github/blob/main/CONTRIBUTING.md#create-an-eclipse-development-environment

This is just like what these projects have done:

  https://github.com/eclipse/windowbuilder/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md#2-create-an-eclipse-development-environment
  https://github.com/eclipse/birt#create-a-birt-development-environment

Thanks Hannes Wellmann for the idea and help around supporting a badge with common styling!

This configuration installs the latest I-Build Eclipse SDK, sets up the most recently released Eclipse Platform as the API baseline, clones PDE's repos:

sets up a target platform with the latest IBuild, which imports the source projects into the workspace as a side effect, and organizes the workspace projects into working sets:

Ed

Subject: [action required] Migration of pde.ui repo to github

Hello PDE committers and contributors,

Considering the upcoming migration from Gerrit to GitHub for PDE.ui projects, I would like to request

everyone to look all the open gerrit in their name.

The full list is here

https://git.eclipse.org/r/q/repo:pde/eclipse.pde.ui+is:open

If change is no longer required, please abandon.

If the change is relevant, please merge them.

If both are not possible, please make a note of gerrit patch now and manually migrate to GitHub ( once migration is done).

It will be good to do this by EOD Thursday ( 31st March) as migration of pde.ui may be done on or after 1st April, 2022.

Thanks and Regards,

Vikas
