In the search dialog that Chris and I are working on (which I now realize I forgot to send you), you can search for individual IUs.  So this should help in that case:

What I'm referring to here is not what I see when I browse my target, but when I try to pick content from the repository. Today, the UI where I browse the content of the p2 repository is group centric, but we should also give the ability to pick things that are not only groups (e.g. the IU for a bundle).
