The ability to launch additional OSGi frameworks is one of the PDE items
planned for 3.3
We will take a look at your contribution and work to integrate it with PDE
in the next little while.

Hi,
I have just opened a bug entry at
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=152315 with an enhancement to
PDE that allows launching PDE projects (also regular OSGi bundles) with
your
favourite OSGi frameworks, currently Apache Felix and Equinox. Now it is
independent from the PDE Equinox Launch, but it could be easily merged with
it.
