[pde-dev] CVS plugin issues

I have checked out a cvs tree from WINCVS and now trying to import it as 
a project in eclipse. Till now no problems.
But
When I try to connect to cvs from the project it says a error:
:/cvs/root repository not found

Why is eclipse prepending a ":" before the cvs repository location. I 
believe it reads the repository location from CVS/Root file in the 
filesystem.

Is eclipse not able to understand the checked out trees from other tools 
  or command lines or I am missing something here.

All gurus of CVS and eclipse please help me in finding a solution. Your 
help in this regard is greatly appreciated.
