[paho-dev] News on Progress for Paho Release 1.1

Hello everyone,

I'm still working on the Paho 1.1 release, getting little fixes in here and there before I'm happy. I've also been making some good progress in the MQTT test conformance material, which has been taking some of my time, as I thought we were going to have an MQTT interops test day at EclipseCon in March -- we're not now, but it's still a very interesting topic that I'm having a hard time leaving alone.

The current progress for 1.1 is quite well summed up on the Paho downloads page, https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/technology.paho/downloads, except for knowing which version number of each tool is in the release, as they are no longer in sync. So,

Python client 1.1 is ready - thanks to Roger!
.Net and WinRT client 4.0.0.0 - thanks to Paolo!
C client 1.0.3 - finally I've packaged that up, and the downloads are ready. I had to fix up the Makefile to work on the Mac, as some (otherwise good!) contributed changes didn't work there.

I'm still working on the Java client and Android service - that will be version 1.0.2. Learning more about Maven, Nexus and Android tools to get that ready. There won't be any more fixes than exist in the development branch, just packaging those up.

The MQTT embedded client is ready for version 1.0. I have some fixes for the C++ layer, which is running on mbed and Arduino, amongst others, so the Arduino download will be refreshed, and I probably ought to make other downloads available.

Finally, I'm not sure if the JavaScript client will get a new service release in this timeframe, I'll be thinking about that one.

I'll make a full announcement when it's all done. But I may be making no more progress on it this week as I'm teaching a class in work on Thursday and Friday, and need tomorrow to prepare.
