Re: [p2-dev] [HEADS UP] Gerrit & CI

From what I understand Gerrit won't be 'required' for existing committers, at least not yet. I'll certainly use it, but I want to make sure that we don't have to run each patch through Gerrit first -- especially while we are trying to stabilize the Luna build (nested Jar signing) and shipping the already completed SR1 build.

As you mentioned, the configuration should leave all git urls intact, so I don't expect any implications for the existing platform build. Please let me know if this is incorrect.

Hey everyone,

I have just filled bug 416590 - Enable Gerrit for P2.

The timing is far from perfect (SR1 is around the corner), and in a
normal situation I'd wait until SR1 and M2 are out, but in order to use
commiters' scarce time in a best way, they have to be armed with proper
tooling as soon as possible.

Requested gerrit configuration is expected to leave commiters git urls
intact, so at least we are safe here. I will send more detailed
instructions when gerrit is up & working.

The change that will follow gerrit enablement is bug 416591 - Continuous
integration for P2. I'm going to run all tests for each patch submitted
to gerrit.

I hope this will help everyone.
