Re: [p2-dev] p2 Tutorial at EclipseCon

Hello Ian,

I should attend EclipseCon 2011, and I’m still interested in helping out during your session.

Was your tutorial accepted ?

Thanks,

Anthony

Nayna, Anthony,

Thanks for the enthusiasm.  We have some Equinox/p2 committers who are interested in putting the tutorial together, and I think it's only fair to list them as the official presenters. Although if the tutorial gets accepted, and you are interested, it would be great to have someone test out the examples. If you are going to be at EclipseCon, let me know, as I'm sure we'll need some help in the room as people work through the code.

Cheers,
Ian

Hi everyone,

I submitted a p2 tutorial titled "A Gentle Introduction to p2" [1] which will cover the most important parts of the API (RepositoryManagers / Repos, IUs, Queries, Operations and the Engine).  If anybody is interested in helping out with this tutorial, please let me know.

I plan on providing 4 hands on exercises that will, when completed, produce an Eclipse Installer (for all those people who are still upset that Eclipse doesn't have an installers ;)).

cheers,

ian

Don't believe the fear, uncertainity and doubts from people that have never tried it.
