Re: [p2-dev] Generating a p2-enabled product installation

Ah! No version was set, indeed.

By the way, the product configuration is based on plug-ins and not on features.

Does that make it problem prone as well?

Does your product have a version number?  I had a problem a while ago where the product didn't have a version, and this caused problems.

Also, ensure that your product has a unique name. I'm not sure what would happen if your product had the same name as your feature.

How did you publish your product?  (that is, how did you take you  bundles / features and product and create the repositories).  Did you use the product export from the UI?

How should i proceed to install the org.eclipse.sdk.ide IU?

In the SDK build this is done by running the packager using a .product file.
Look at
org.eclipse.releng.eclipsebuilder/buildAll.xml#packageEclipseDistributables
from CVS. "

This sounds like https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=250132.  Install the org.eclipse.sdk.ide to get the executable.

Hello,

I've been trying to use the director application to perform a p2-enabled installation of a product i'm trying to add provisioning.

Followed the guidelines from Kai's Blog (http://toedter.com/blog/?p=27) and from the Hackathon's example  (http://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse_Summit_Europe_2008_Equinox_Hackathon) as mentioned in another thread.

The problem i'm having is that the director application is not generating the executables for my application: it's only generating the p2 and plugins folder and the artifacts.xml file, in the directory defined as the destination.

I've even tried installing and adding the plugins from the Delta Pack, for no avail.

Is it some step i am missing?

Thanks in advance.
