Re: [p2-dev] P2 UI search filter

Miles, the filter used intentionally applies only to leaves (non-category IU's).
Is your desired behavior that when a category meets the filter, that all leaves would be included in the filter?

I agree it might be useful to relax this, so please open a bug report.

The filter currently matches based on which columns are visible.

If I remember correctly the filtering is currently done based on the user visible name. Therefore if there was any other reference to perl in your repository it would not be found.
I think it does makes sense to allow for the filtering to find matched based on other information of the IU such as the "details".
Please open a bug report, thx

[p2-dev] P2 UI search filter

Hi All,

One of the most useful features of the new P2 update manager UI is the search filter. However, it seems that the filter text is only applied to the leaves and not to the categories. So, if I have a repository category called 'EPIC Perl Dev' containing the EPIC plugin, which is named simply 'EPIC', I cannot find this using the filter 'perl'. If the filter also applied to categories all would be well. Do people think that the filter algorithm needs adjusting for this reason?

Thanks,

Miles
