[p2-dev] P2 UI improvements: have a look at YaST?

Hi,

I just wanted to propose having at a look at openSUSE's YaST Software Management Module, which from my experience has a number of features that are badly missing in the P2 UI.

It's also based on SAT for resolving dependencies from different sources, so it does have a lot in common with P2. It made a big leap forward in terms of performance and usability with openSUSE 11.

It can be quickly tried out without installing openSUSE by running the openSUSE LiveCD, which is available for download here.

I know this doesn't fit yet into the "personas" scheme as envisioned, but it could give good inspiration for a basic general-purpose software management UI.

Regards,
Jörg
