Re: [ormf-dev] Project plan deadline is looming
|
Achim,
I had two expectations that have not been fulfilled. First is that
each team member would either accept or decline the tasks I have
suggested for the them. Second, if they accepted, that they would
communicate about how they planned to achieve the task, asked any
pertinent background questions and (hopefully) provided an estimate of
how long they thought it would take them.
Perhaps the fault is mine in that I did not explicitly state this, but
I really did not even consider it to be necessary. If people came back
with acceptances, but no plan then I would most likely have asked.
Seeing as you were the only one to accept a task (and only the CQ
task) I felt that all was pretty hopeless.
I certainly do not wish to antagonise the situation as both B. and I
really both appreciate your continuing support, but I am going to use
your dive into EMF as a case in point. What you are up to at the
moment is not what I was requesting. I can easily see how you
construed this; the fact is, though, that I was asking something quite
different. What I wanted you to take on was thinking through the model
or scheme, which, in fact, would be valid regardless of the technology
that was used to realise it. If you had accepted and then we discussed
it, the misunderstanding would have most likely been disclosed.
Cheers,
Joel

the situation please let us know ASAP.
I'm not sure what you are expecting. I'm working on the tasks you
assigned to me (CQ and EMF approach). Both tasks require a lot of
reading and comprehending.
I hope to find the information for the CQ within the next week.
EMF will take a lot more time since I'm not familiar with the
framework. Currently I'm reading Richards book (thanks for the hint,
Flavelle). As soon as I'm done there I'll start discussing a
possible solution with you and keep the rest of the team informed.
If you need a faster response on this task perhaps someone with more
knowledge of EMF should take this and I'll do something else.
Achim
