Re: [orion-dev] Defining orion.page.link.category

Hi Anton,

I am using it on the service explorer for the Openshift. This is very similiar to Git explorer that orion includes. It let's developers to explore the domains and apps that they have access on Openshift and develop them via orion. Each app may have several actions associated with it.

I could not really see any other obvious way to navigate to an explorer hence the use of the orion.page.link.category and friends.

Hi Gorkem,

It's cool that you're using the vertical nav bar ( and the contributions for it do need to be more extensible, for sure, as Simon indicated ).

Would you mind sharing your use case with us? Tell us a little about what you're building, and also if possible how you decided that was a useful extension point for you. It helps us make sure we're doing the right things for extensibility ( in particular since the vertical menu was a recent addition, it will help us improve it ).

Many thanks,

Anton McConville

Hi Gorkem,

Bear with me a few days on that one as we're making a modification to the link.category to allow it to be also used for notifications. What we actually want is a plugin to contribute an image data url.

Hi,
What is the correct place/way to define the css class for use on imageClass for a a plugin that contributes orion.page.link.category service? Defining the class on a css file loaded by the plugins makes the contributed icon disappear when using any of the other categories. Is there a way for orion to keep the css category around even when the pugin's html files are not loaded?

So far the only way I could find was to modify index.css to load my own css file but this pretty much means any plugin that provides orion.page.link.category needs to be part of orion or use one of the built in icons.
Thanks,
