There are some malicious browser hacks
going around right now. I had a similar experience with advertisements
popping up on all sites and it was caused by a browser plugin that was
hijacked:

I suggest disabling all browser plugins
you don't fully trust and try again. Also to validate whether it is a particular
browser problem, try the same page in another browser and see if you get
the same effect.
