Re: [orion-dev] Google Summer of Code 2012

Maybe next year, Friday was the last day to submit proposals and I already have submitted for other organizations, if next year there's still no Python tooling support I will apply to that project.

Thanks for your support!

João

Yes, programming language tooling for Python in Orion would be a fine idea. There is no Python tooling support today at all, apart from basic syntax highlighting with CodeMirror, so there are plenty of things you can work on there.

Oh I'm so sorry, I misuderstood the topic, I tought by language you meant speaking language, my bad.

But still, now that I know what it means, I could develop an Orion tooling support for Python, it was my programming language last semester.

I know the deadline is approaching and I'm quite worried but I'll try my best.

Sincerely,

João Reys Santos

Excuse my naive question but is Portugal a programming language? If so, Orion tooling support for a single programming language seems like quite a reasonable scope for a GSOC project. There was a GSOC project for PHP tooling in Orion last year and I think it worked very well. Personally I would recommend a more popular programming language but if you're committed to using Portugal that sounds fine. Note that the deadline is rapidly approaching so you will need to get a proposal drafted soon!

John
