I would welcome someone else actually working on the git related command support.
Frankly I'm pretty busy with other non-orion related work at the moment and haven't
worked on the commandline integration for a while. (Also we are waiting for
GCLI CQ to go through before any of the work I did on this so far can become part of Orion proper).
So for now the only way to play with this requires you to setup a locally hosted orion
from the github branches. See the bug for details.
Let me know if you need help setting this up (it is a bit tricky).

I've talked with skaegi at #eclipse-orion IRC room about a GSoC idea.
The command line console, could also have some navigation commands (like ls, cd, rm, open, etc).
I have no email contact of skaegi, and I would like to contact him to know if he could be my mentor on this idea.
