I never learned the details of how the CVS dependencies were pulled in, but Roland explained that it happens at build time.

It should be possible to look at Orbit CI and learn what repository is pulling in the old dependency set.

I’ll take a look and see if I can learn any more details to share.

I am trying to upgrade JAXB (see Bug 568379) and I want to remove the old version, but as that comes from CVS I don't know the flow or where to look.
