[orbit-dev] Fw: Committer election under way that's not needed ....

Just so everyone knows ....

Thanks to Matt for "manually" intervening with databases to cancel the voting processes for Jens (who was already a committer)  ... just wanted  to be sure everyone knew why .... and didn't start it over again :)

Jens, you may want to "test access" before you "really need it" just to confirm all is well (but, I'm sure it will be).

Thanks all for your contributions, including your eagerness to add new committers.

I've deleted the election and votes just to stop any automated mailing and updates to the tracking DB.

Just letting it run its course would be easiest for all involved, I think. A PMC member should be able to to just veto when it comes through. I don't think it will cause any downstream problems.

Webmaster, or Sharon... any other ideas?

We do need to make sure that the new implementation of committer elections (when it's ready) takes this into consideration.

Thanks,

Wayne

Jens Reimann was already a commiter in Orbit, and Chris "nominated him" without knowing or looking first.

If not easy to do ... guess we can let things "run their course" ... but hope that doesn't complicate something down the line?

Thanks,

Ah you're right:
https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/tools.orbit/who

Interesting that the portal didn't yell at me for electing a committer that already was there.

Correct.

But if I did not got kicked out, I should already be committer. ;-)
