Hi Christian,

It seems like a JIT crash. -Xint (disabling the JIT; this will give regress perf) or -Xjit:exclude={java/lang/StringConcatHelper.stringOf*} (excluding the method from compilation; better for perf) might work as a temporary workaround.

Can you please open a Github issue against the OpenJ9 repo: https://github.com/eclipse-openj9/openj9/issues/new/choose? This will initiate the process and the failure will be formally looked at. Your JIT point of contact will be Henry Zongaro (@hzongaro).

Hi,

we're regularly testing Hibernate ORM on s390x, but recently started experiencing issues when building Hibernate ORM 7.0 on s390x, since that requires JDK 17.

We essentially run into a JVM error. We're using the latest available Semeru JDK 17: https://github.com/ibmruntimes/semeru17-binaries/releases/tag/jdk-17.0.10%2B7_openj9-0.43.0

I hope this is the right place to report this. Can you maybe also suggest a workaround for the meantime?
