Can you please provide some rationalization for the nomination of Jan 
Blankenhorn as committer.

We need a little more than "New committer on project" or "yo!". 
Something like "Jan provided us with a great contribution (bug xxxx) and 
has agreed to come on board to support it" or "Jan is a giant in the 
field and our project will benefit greatly from the added wisdom and 
guidance"
