Re: [nebula-dev] NatTable

I don't have a problem with NatTable being a subproject, but the same options should be provided for each with a good description of what the pro's and con's of doing so means. I assume the con's are more overhead to manange the project where the pros would be their own builds?

XViewer is an "advanced" widget that has been around in the OSEE project for 5+ years. It needs to have it's own hudson build task due to dependencies of other projects building on it. We can't wait for a nightly build to get a needed change through. Other than that, I'm not sure there is a reason for subproject status.

What keeps NatTable from having it's own release cycle and being a part of Nebula's release cycle?

Hi Edwin & Nebula-Devs,

First of all I think Nattable is a great contribution to Nebula and I'm looking forward to get the sources through IP and get the widget integrated into our project.

I've already had a short private conversation with Edwin on the process and it looks like Nattable would - in contrast to other Nebula components - get a subproject of Nebula so that they can follow their own release cycles.

The fact that already acted since a long time as an independent project makes their move to nebula less of a problem than it would be when we integrate them simply as a component (*).

Do other Nebula-Devs agree to get Nattable in as a subproject? I really want to hear your opinion!

Tom

(*) I'll act as their mentor and help them with the whole paperwork, ...
. Any other EAC people here would like to mentor this new Nebula-Subproject?
