[mylyn-versions-dev] merged versionsIntegration branch to HEAD

Hello,
I have merged the versionsIntegration branch (created right after API
freeze) to HEAD as the 3.5 release is in its own branch now.

the changes introduced are related to Bugs: 338669, 338547 and 338478

I have been looking for an option to display the history at a project
level, using the cvs plug-in but the only option I found is at the
file level. quite useless to see the history of the project..

I guess the best option to review the changes would be to compare the
3.5 branch against the latest HEAD.
