Re: [mylyn-reviews-dev] Mylyn Reviews Gerrit Connector: project status ?

Hi,

yes, it is correct that we decided to host the framework as well as
the reference implementations in a single project to reduce overhead
and to increase collaboration around the code instead of proposing a
separate sub-sub-project for Gerrit. The expectation is that the
reference implementations, TBR (Task-based Reviews), R4E
(Review4Eclipse) and the Gerrit Connector, will drive rapid evolution
of the framework and we want to avoid redundancy as much as possible.
Having all code in one repository and project should make that easier.

A lot of the discussion happened on the weekly Mylyn calls, Review
calls and in a F2F in Vancouver. This thread on the mailing list has a
short summary: http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/mylyn-dev/msg01016.html
.

The current status of the Gerrit connector is that the code donation
from SonyEricsson was IP approved and can now be found in the git
repository [1]. Note that not all of the dependencies have been
reviewed, yet, but the code is functional.

Great to hear that you have approval to work on Gerrit. The next step
would be to do a committer vote as we have done for the other
components.

Everyone who is interested in working on the Gerrit connector, please
send me an email that includes your Bugzilla email address and I'll
initiate the process.

I'll try to put a web-page for Gerrit in the next couple of days.
Kilian, Mario, is it okay to edit the main page to reflect the new
project structure?

We should also document the proposed architecture and UI workflows
somewhere to make sure we are all on the same page.

Please let me know if I missed anything.

Steffen
