Re: [mylyn-integrators] Problems writing a custom context bridge

Hi Jan and all,

Naturally Integrators is the one Mylyn list that I didn't sign up to follow :), so I missed your message here. Please follow-up on incubator list since that is where the EMF bridge work is happening.

> What I try (or tried) to accomplish is to store my own type of objects (actually EMF objects) in the context of a task - therefore I wrote my own bridge in the first place. In principle this kind of work is at present also done by Miles Parker and Benjamin Muskalla (we had some conversation in the mylyn list) but that initiative is at early stage and in the meantime I tried to do some hacks to get experience and some quick results.

I can happily report that the work is no longer at an early stage, in fact we still hope to have a deliverable by end of month. Generalized code for handling all of the above is in place as well as initial support for GMF, Papyrus and EcoreTools. To be sure, there is still a lot to do and we'd love to have your contribution. I haven't been sending notes to the list instead I've just been keeping track of things on bugzilla -- so I apologize if the pace of work wasn't clear. We have been trying to keep the bugs and wiki list up to date, though and of course there is the actual git. :) So that we don't duplicate work, let's work out an are to collaborate on if you'd still like to do that. In fact, there is already a task for Task Context editor. Perhaps you'd like to take that on?

BTW, Benjamin just discovered yet another go at this from a year or so ago in addition to the one you mentioned: http://code.google.com/a/eclipselabs.org/p/mylyn-gmf-ui/source/browse/ so this seems like a popular area!

cheers,

Miles
