Re: [mylyn-docs-dev] Markdown support

Hi David,

We at MARINTEK are in the process of migrating from various other markup dialects to Markdown and are already consuming the current support in Mylyn Docs. As many have noted; the "Daring Fireball" version is of sub-optimal quality, so we have been thinking about implementing the CommonMark spec for Mylyn Docs ourselves.

Unless there are any objections and if you feel comfortable with simply putting it through a Gerrit review I think we should do that. I'd be happy to help out.

Best regards,
Torkild

The CommonMark spec has about 525 tests, so using those will save a lot of effort and will ensure that the Markdown implementation has predictable behaviour. The intention is to get to 100% (or near 100%) pass rate.

Alternatively we could skip the incubator step if we're happy with the code quality, test coverage and feature completeness. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
