To be clear - while originally we were only talking about dropping Mylyn Tasks/Context/etc from simrel, the current Mylyn text plug-ins have problems too because they depend on mylyn tasks ui bundle which in turn depends on mylyn notifications.feed which has the problem in its MANIFEST.MF:

Hi Mylyn devs,

The state of Mylyn has unfortunately bit-rotted a little. At the moment parts of Mylyn don't work due to JAXB changes. I have provided a set of patches that I think brings Mylyn working in this area. However I haven't been able to build locally, and the gerrit CI jobs won't run for me (presumably because I am not a committer):

See Bug 564699 for the original user report of a problem. Things were broken in 2020-06 and 2020-09.
