Hi,

I agree that this is not ideal, but no, we have no plans to change this, unless a better security mechanism becomes available (https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=532252 ?). This was introduced in https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=375350 to prevent malicious code execution and I think the risk is enough to justify the inconvenience. I believe Mylyn is not the only project using it. In theory, contributions should be quickly triaged and builds retriggered by committers, but of course this is not always the case.
