Re: [mylyn-dev] Vex Editor for Mylyn Docs project

Wayne, I've stripped the generated html down to the bare bones.  Basically updated the template, and the final result is in the proposal.html file.   I corrected spelling mistakes and did some general clean up.

Attached are the latest files.

I see that there's no spell-checking in the Vex editor... ;-)

I have purposefully made the document template very simple. No divs, spans, etc. to make it a little easier to parse. This is not the best solution, but it's a "good enough" solution for now (ultimately, I see these as documents in a document management system, but I don't have the resources to implement that right now).

Ideally, it'd be better if you could simplify the output to avoid divs and just generate the headers and contents using the conventions I've established.

Also, the title should just be the title of the project (i.e. don't include "Project", or "Proposal"; just "Vex"), you should not render the title in the html (this will be done by the php wrapper), I don't need to see a table of contents, your name and email address are not required, and I would rather the revision history be placed at the bottom.

The final document will be renamed proposal.html if that matters.

As part of the creation process, we'll have to do a trademark search/assignment on the name. Do you anticipate any trademark issues?

Thanks,

Wayne

Wayne attached is a ZIP that contains the Project proposal.  Included are the following:

1. ProjectProposal.xml - a generic DocBook XML file that can be used by others in the future to create Project Proposals.
2. projectpropoals-docbook.xsl - an XSLT stylesheet that uses "The DocBook Project"'s XSL stylesheet for HTML to generate the HTML version of a proposal.
3. VexProjectProposal.xml - The DocBook format of the project proposal for Vex.
4. VexProjectProposal.html - the HTML generated version of the proposal for Vex.

The VexProjectPropsoal was created using Vex to edit and create the documents.  It also used the Web Tools XSL Tools plugins to run the transformation to output the HTML formatted version.

Please let me know if we need anything else added to this or if we need to tweak the generated HTML at all.

The initial contribution section of the proposal should indicate which components from the existing WTP incubator will be moved.

There's more help here:

Let me know if you need any help.
