  To be fair, I've been also suggesting to allow to configure visual

place (which is, of course, at the left, next to the task icon like it
is done on Synchronize view) can tweak Task List visual presence.
Please try to justify your arguments, saying "of course to the left" is not
information that I can act on.
I was referring to a joke about british drivers riding on the right side of the road and if you read my sentence, it was also referring to the personal preferences of some group of people.
As I pointed out on bug the following UIs,
each of which I think has some great UI design components, put key
properties of this sort in a right-aligned column:
* Outlook 2007: status flag/tag is right-aligned
* Thunderbird 2.0: star tag/flag
* Gmail: attachment status
Very bad example for you. Both Outlook and Thunderbird do allow to customize order and that is the first thing I do after installing them.
The only actionable information I have right now is that "Eugene Kuleshov
cannot stand the right-aligned flag".
Eugene Kuleshov is one of the 5 people who saw new UI and found it difficult to use for monitoring task changes.
I'm in no way wed to keeping incoming on the right, I just want more input,
or a a proposal that works keeps in mind the other design constraints.
So, here is an input to make it configurable for the reasons I tried to explain to you in a very same comment.
  All in all, if you can't make everyone happy - make the damn thing
customizable for advanced users.
At this stage I am completely opposed to making this configurable for the
reasons I tried to explain to you in detail on:

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=182772#c18

I want us to settle on a single UI. The old UI is acceptable to settle on
if the improvements are not compelling enough.
To settle, you'll need to compromise on something. But I can't see how you can settle on two opposite things.

 regards,
 Eugene
