We don't have a maintainer of GEMS at this
point. I suggest
termination and archival of the project.
Thanks,
Jules

Hi,
Regarding AMW, I did a request a couple of
months ago to migrate to the
M2M project.
However, after a discussion with Hugo and part
of the ATL team, I think
it is more appropriate to move only its
content into the M2M-ATL project.
Are you ok with that?
After that, the AMW project can be arquived.

Marcos.

Hi Wayne & Ed,
I remember that Jean contacted the various GMT
sub-project
leaders more than one year ago to start
discussing about the migration
or termination of their different projects.
At that time, the idea was to archive the GMT
project
in itself once a satisfying situation found
for each one of its sub-projects.
This first round of discussions has already
resulted in
several moves: MoDisco is now in MDT
(including the content from the AM3
project), Epsilon in EMFT, TCS in TMF.
I've taken a quick look to the GMT homepage
and updated
the available links accordingly.
Thus, the remaining sub-projects are:
- AMW - There is a pre-agreement to move
its content to
the M2M-ATL project, nevertheless the
actual process has to be finally
set up and launched if still relevant (cf.
Marcos Didonet Del Fabro);
- Epsilon - Already OK (can be removed
from GMT once provisioned
in EMFT);
- GEMS - cf. Jules White for the project
status?
- MOFScript - cf. Goran K. Olsen for the
project status?
- OMCW - There is only courseware content
in this project,
I will take the lead to move it somewhere
else and terminate this project;
- UMLX - cf. ongoing discussions with Ed
Willink;
- VIATRA2 - cf. Daniel Varro for the
project status?
If
needed, I can provide my help in preparing the
docuware for the GMT termination
review.
Best regards,
Hugo

Hi Ed.
Every once in a while, the Technology project
does a project purge. We
start by putting together a list of candidates
and then try to determine
how active the projects are. We basically take
on the termination
process ourselves because the project members
tend to be under-motivated
to effect the reviews themselves. Where
possible, we get a +1 from the
project lead before we finalize the list.
Here's our list of terminations that we're
targeting for December 2011:
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Technology/Subproject_Termination_Review_2011
Termination reviews don't require a huge
amount of documentation; they
just need to provide some discussion of why
the project is terminating
(in Technology, it tends to be lack of
involvement), along with a list
of the things that need to happen to complete
the termination/archival
process. We lump the lot of them into a single
review document (i.e the
wiki page)
We did something similar with DSDP:
http://wiki.eclipse.org/DSDP/Restructuring_Review
Let me know if you want any help getting
started in assembling something
similar for Modeling (there may be other
candidate projects outside of
GMT).
HTH,
Wayne
