[modeling-pmc] EMF Validation transition
|
Hello everyone,
reading all the threads about the MDT OCL and EMF QTV transition plans I
noticed that there is no one yet willing to commit to the EMF validation
component. itemis, which I'm working for, is pretty much interested in
the whole modeling topic and is willing to contribute. So I'd like to
express my interest in being a committer for the EMF validation project.
Since I'm not known to the community, I would like to introduce myself
and my interest in the EMF validation framework. I worked for 1,5 years
in a big customer's project. My task within that project was to develop
a validation framework on top of the EMF validation framework. During
that time I was able to get a deep insight into the EMF validation
framework.
Some more information about my personal background: I'm programming Java
for more than 11 years now. I attended right from the beginning at an
academic open source project started in 1997 at my university. It was
called Fujaba (http://www.fujaba.de), a UML IDE developed for academic
research topics such as model- and graph-grammar-based development,
reverse engineering, real time UML, and several other topics. My focus
was on reverse engineering, especially on design pattern recognition, on
which I also did my PhD. I lead a subproject to integrate Fujaba into
Eclipse beginning in 2004. This project was rewarded by an IBM Eclipse
innovation award in 2004. Since that I more or less exclusively used
Eclipse as basis for all my developments. The result of my PhD thesis
can be found on my web page (http://www.wendehals.de/reclipse),
unfortunately the web page is in German only, the software itself is in
English. Since 2007 I'm working with itemis.
I'm not yet familiar with the Eclipse processes but I'm sure I will
learn fast.
Kind regards,
Lothar Wendehals
