Re: [modeling-pmc] [Fwd: [mdt-ocl.dev] [Announce] OCL Tools component proposal]
|
Bjorn,
Yes, I'd already explained to Kenn that the announce will need to be made
to the community at large, not just to the modeling community. He wanted
to announce this way first, then have a vote by the MDT committers for the
creation of the component and the granting of committer status to the
initial committers for that component, and finally, when approved by the
committers and the PMC, to announce to the community at large. Does that
seem like a good process to follow? I know for previous EMFT components
that were created, I just called for a vote and when that was successful I
asked the EMO to announce their creation, which to me seemed sufficient.
Is that way okay too?

Of course if you decide to go ahead with this new component, you would
announce it to the greater Eclipse community using the "largish new stuff"
announcement mechanism, n'est pas? Thanks.

Attached is a proposal to create a new OCL Tools component as part of the
MDT subproject. Technical discussions about the formation, scope, and
direction of this new component will take place on the eclipse.modeling.mdt
newsgroup (please prefix the subject with [OCL Tools]). If you have
comments or ideas, or interest in contributing to the component, please
join in the discussion!
