Re: [modeling-pmc] Re: Eclipse Modeling documentation

Title: Re: [modeling-pmc] Re: Eclipse Modeling documentation
Hi Alex,

Thanks for the offer!  I’d say there is a need for documentation in just about every area, and even more so when considering the use of multiple modeling components together (e.g. we could use more end-to-end articles like this: http://www.eclipse.org/articles/Article-FromFrontendToCode-MDSDInPractice/article.html).

So, it’s largely up to your area(s) of interest, as I see it.

Thanks again,
Rich

Alex,

Sorry to mix up your first name and last name.  How rude is that?!  They both look like first names and I'm always terrible for remembering names!

Ryan,

That's very kind of you to offer!  I'm sharing your note with the PMC to get various opinions.

Eclipse Modeling documentation

Hi Ed,

On a couple occasions at EclipseCon you requested some assistance with documentation.

I can volunteer to help out with this.

I’m a relative newbie to EMF and some of the other modeling technologies and can bring that perspective to the project.

I actually like writing and my boss (CTO of Unisys) has given me a publishing performance objective for this year.

My initial thoughts are that EMF is actually quite well documented compared to some of the other modeling projects.

Let me know what kind of feedback that you’ve been getting from users on where the doc needs to be improved.

Regards,

Alex
