Hi Ronnie,
thanks for sending us the link. We have done an initial investigation about the use of the components, and there are plenty of interesting tools. Although, it seems that some of them are targeted at native development, and we are still working on provide support to native in Sequoyah.
As soon as we have the Automated Test Framework in a more advanced design / development phase, we'll come back and check with more details how to integrate or at least support such tools in Sequoyah scope.

The TEF framework has been used extensively within Symbian for building application test coverage for areas like application certification etc. You can also get more details from the package owner, name is on the wiki.

Once Helios is finally out we are now focusing on thinking about some great ideas to implement as new features in Sequoyah. One of them is an automation testing framework.
This automation test framework, which is language and platform agnostic, will provide means to define and implement any sequence of steps for a test, with a seamless integration of tools and support necessary for tests in a single Integrated Development Environment based on Eclipse technology. Through the use of this framework, the user will be able to test a mobile application interacting with a device emulator, a GPS simulator, a camera connected to the PC's USB port, a user registration web service, among many other possibilities, in an automated way.
Automation Test Framework intends to be different from the similar frameworks already available due the following reasons:
- Eclipse based
- Open Source solution
- Image based testing support
- Easier to use
- Language and platform agnostic
- Highly customizable
