Bjorn,

Can you confirm whether component-specific voting has been set up in the portal? I saw a workflow describing add a committer to a component, but the voting mechanism still seems to be project-based...

Kenn,

I talked to Bjorn about component specific voting a while back and the
foundation does recognize that if you set it up correctly.  Nick was
helping the foundation get the component-based list of names in order so we
could vote that way in EMF/EMFT.  Note that one condition of XSD moving to
MDT was that component-based voting apply for it, so I certainly expect XSD
to be handled that way in the future even if UML2 decides not to take that
approach.  As such, I don't expect any of the XSD committers to be voting
for or against adding UML2 committers, since that doesn't directly affect
us and isn't any of our business.

Yes, but the Foundation doesn't recognize our component-specific processes,
so we'll need at least three votes from MDT committers I think...

modeling.mdt Committers,
Kenn Hussey has nominated James Bruck as a Committer on the modeling.mdt
project. The reason given is as follows:

James has made many contributions to the UML2 component of the MDT project
- see http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/mdt/uml2/eclipse-project-ip-log.csv.
He has also answered many eclipse.modeling.mdt.uml2 newsgroup postings -

The vote is being held via the MyFoundation portal: voters *must* use the
portal for the votes to be properly recorded.  The voting will continue
until either all 15 existing Committers have voted or until they have been
given enough time to vote, even if they do not do so (defined as at least
one week). James Bruck must receive at least three +1s and no -1s for a
successful election.

Eligible Committers must cast their votes through their My Foundation
portal page (do NOT just reply to this email; your vote will not be
correctly recorded unless you use the portal):
