Re: [mdt-papyrus.dev] Post-M7 Plan & Branches

Hi all,

The Oxygen branch is now created, as well as (some of) the associated jobs. I didn’t create the entire set of jobs, because they will need to be rewritten when Oxygen becomes the master branch (Sometime after RC4). The main 5 jobs are present and running [1] (Main, Main Tests, Dev, Extra, Extra Tests)

Bug fixes should be pushed to master (There is no need to push them to Oxygen as well, because the Oxygen branch will be rebased on master later), and new features/breaking changes to the Oxygen branch

Objet : [PROVENANCE INTERNET] [mdt-papyrus.dev] Post-M7 Plan & Branches

Hi all,

Some work-in-progress features won’t make it into M7 and will be postponed for Oxygen (Or maybe Neon.1 depending on their individual state).

To avoid these feature branches becoming stale and/or incompatible with each other, we’ll create a pre-Oxygen branch, which will be rebased on top of master after RC4

You can find the plan for branches and build in Bug 492887 [1]. The general idea is to:

-          Preserve the master branch for Neon until the final Neon build (RC4)

-          Stick to the current convention as much as possible (Using streams/x-maintenance and master for official releases)

-          Allow Feature developments targeting Oxygen right after M7 (Including builds)

The branch and builds will be created early next week if no issues are reported regarding this approach
