Re: [mdt-papyrus.dev] [PROVENANCE INTERNET] Re: [PROVENANCE INTERNET] Gerrit & Bugzilla synchronization

Hi Michael,

I guess I forgot to mention that this is an Eclipse Community feature; nothing specific to Papyrus. I mostly forwarded the information.

E-mails are written by Bugzilla, so I’m not sure who can fix that (It’s difficult to convince people to stop using the 80 characters limit :) )

Regarding the URI reported by Gerrit, it’s an Hudson 3.1.2 bug, which is unfortunately the version we are using for Papyrus HIPP!

433410: Hudson not respecting configured Hudson URL

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=433410

443176: [Papyrus] Update HIPP to Hudson 3.2.0

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=443176

422507: [HIPP] Provide a way for projects to upgrade their HIPP instance

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=422507

Regards,
Camille

Hello,

First of all, this is indeed great feature which simplifies the life a lot.

I just would like to bring your attention into the very minor glitch that I hope would be easy to fix.

One of the last emails from genie I received for 459480, has this lines:

> Eclipse Genie <genie@xxxxxxxxxxx> changed:
>
>            What    |Removed                     |Added
> ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
>            See Also|                            |https://git.eclipse.org/r/4
>                    |                            |1451
>
> --- Comment #1 from Eclipse Genie <genie@xxxxxxxxxxx> ---
> New Gerrit change created: https://git.eclipse.org/r/41451

The comment looks great, but if you look at the top part of the message, you will see that the "See also" url is interpreted as "https://git.eclipse.org/r/4" because "1451" is at the separate line.

It would be nice if someone can fix the template for this email to avoid that new lines.
(The same problem can be observed also for other changes. E.g, adding a "CC" leads to notification with CC'ed email split into lines, but at least you are not supposed to click on emails).

And while I am at this topic, can I mention one more similar place where the "standard" email links don't work for me:
When Hudson CI starts a build for gerrit (and more important, when this build fails for whatever reason), the link in email looks like:

> Patch Set 1: Verified+1
>
> Build Successful
>
> https://hudson.eclipse.org//job/Papyrus-Gerrit/1853/ : SUCCESS

Here the link in the last line misses "papyrus", should be : "https://hudson.eclipse.org/papyrus/job/Papyrus-Gerrit/1853/"

Finally I would like to say really big "Thank you" to someone who has recently fixed the email template for bugzilla frequently producing the email links like "....id=654321Product/Component...".

Regards,
Michael

Great!
Camille, can you also copy this tips on the papyrus designer wiki ?
Thanks.

Hi all,

As you may already have noticed, Gerrit & Bugzilla are now synchronized. A reference from Bugzilla to the Gerrit contribution is now automatically added as soon as the contribution is proposed, and another comment is added when the contribution is accepted (merged). This should help us maintaining the Bug tracker!

Note that this synchronization can happen only if the Contribution contains the Bug ID in the commit message (‘Bug 123456: ....’). Also note that by default, Mylyn/Bugzilla only writes the bug number (Without the ‘Bug’ prefix), which doesn’t trigger the automatic synchronization.

This is invalid (Default Mylyn/Bugzilla message):

459454: [CSS] Support position & size with CSS

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=459454

This is valid (Added the ‘Bug’ prefix):

Bug 459454: [CSS] Support position & size with CSS

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=459454

Regards,

Camille
