Regarding bug/349117: commit 714d14645c80926590ce154d281024f37cdc16ac 
had additional test cases. Did you copy them to the bug/344368b branch? 
Other than that I think bug/344368b has the fixes for the original 
issue, so bug/349117 can be removed once Ed confirms the additional 
tests are preserved.
