Re: [mdt-ocl.dev] Orbit Map File references

Ed,

I think that Alex should have a better answer. I'm just initializing into releng world ;P

--

I'm not quite sure what this means. We don't seem to be using the "updateSite" so I don't think it affects us.
However we're also not using the expected p2 map file directly.

Yes, as we discussed yesterday we are feeding MDT-OCL builds with the LPG jars published by Orbit's builds. So, as far as I understand, we are not using anything related to p2.

Should we be 'including' rather than selectively pasting orbit.map?

I'm not sure what 'including' means. We are not copying anything from orbit.map, just obtaining the the built jar from the public web repository (http://download.eclipse.org/tools/orbit/downloads/)

Should we be using a map p2UI rather than GET operation?

Well, I guess we are doing right, or at least, we are not doing wrong. However, Thomas says that using p2 repositories is very efficient. I have also read that some projects are moving to buckminster technology to drive their builds and promote them. We could just ask Alex if he has any knowledge in this area or any interest in looking into it.

Cheers,
Adolfo.
