[mdt-mst.dev] FW: [CQ 3083] New: MOF Support for Semantic Structures ( MDS Draft Response to “SMOF”)
|
Team,
I have submitted a CQ request to obtain approval to implement Cory's draft of the SMOF specification in MST. As Cory has already licensed the document under EPL, I expect that it won't take long to obtain approval, at which time we'll need to make concrete plans to start the implementation...
Cheers,

Name: MOF Support for Semantic Structures (MDS Draft Response to
“SMOF”)
Type: newcontent
Description: We would like to provide an implementation of this draft OMG
specification (and future versions, when available) in the MST subproject of
MDT. Per conversations with Janet and Mike, there are two ways to obtain IP
clearance prior to OMG specification adoption/finalization, namely 1) license
the submission/draft under the Eclipse Public License (EPL) or 2) attach it to
a Bugzilla bug (at Eclipse) and have each contributor/author add a comment
stating that they grant rights to use/implement it under the EPL.
The specification draft in question (attached to the bug listed below) falls
under the first category, i.e. it has been licensed under the EPL (see p. 2 of
the document, section entitled \"License\").
Cryptography: No.
