I do think that before we suggest a specific implementation for integration with IFTTT (or any other external initiative), we consider defining some “best practices” around MQTT-REST integration (e.g. security is essential) as well as perhaps recommending some design guidelines for consistency between implementations. We could even use this opportunity to fill some of the holes in areas like discoverability, metadata, etc… Just a thought….
