Re: [m2e-users] Testing the updated m2e catalog

3) Lots of answers for this type of message already, check the archives
4) You don't have a repository enabled with a needed dependency (looks like probably Subclipse itself)

Hi.

I just installed the new m2e 1.2 and m2e-wtp 0.16 releases on RAD 8.0.4 (Helios) over the weekend.

Everything went fine, except I couldn't the Subclipse m2e connector.  I stumbled across http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/m2e-users/msg03200.html, which seems related to the problem in this thread.

I'm installing the plug-ins via Help --> Install Software...  (I dare not install these plug-ins manually in this version of RAD).
Here's what I've observed from the plug-ins I need to use:

1.) m2ebuildhelper installed just fine.

2.) m2eclipse stated that a more recent version was installed.  What?

3.) m2eclipse-cxf gives me this message:
Cannot complete the install because of a conflicting dependency.
Software being installed: m2e connector for cxf 0.14.0.201207051239 (org.sonatype.m2e.cxf.feature.feature.group 0.14.0.201207051239)

    To: org.sonatype.m2e.cxf [0.14.0.201207051239]

I am very confused by this one.

4.) m2eclipse-subclipse gives me this message:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: Maven SCM handler for Subclipse 0.13.0.201207041403 (org.sonatype.m2e.subclipse.feature.feature.group 0.13.0.201207041403)

I know that one of the Subclipse guys forked the Subclipse project a while back to fix the dropped maven support for Subclipse when 1.8/subversion 1.7 came out.  Does the version from http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/m2e-users/msg03200.html reintroduce that support?  The reason I'm asking is because I'm not sure whether or not the org.tigris.subversion.subclipse.feature.group 0.0.0 dependency should come from the latest Tigris version or from Mark's forked version.

Please advise.  If anything, I need to get the m2e-subclipse plug-in installed and working today.

Just to stress the importance of getting this out as soon as possible,
have a look at the two questions on this mailing list just today
related to invalid connectors in the currently published discovery
catalog.
