Re: [m2e-users] m2e 1.2 is released

This is called "m2e discovery catalog" and it is hosted outside of
eclipse.org. Original version of the catalog provided along with m2e 1.0
required significant manual effort on my part to maintain and I am no
longer able to do this. There are some efforts to automate maintenance
of the catalog and start publishing updates more or less automatically,
but I am not directly involved in this and do not know when the reworked
catalog will become available. Maybe other m2e committers can comment on
this.

When I said "published to eclipse.org <http://eclipse.org>" I was
speaking colloquially. I meant "published in a way so that when I tell
my co-workers that they should upgrade to m2e 1.2 and then import
projects into Eclipse, I can assume that they'll (more or less)
automatically be led to the dialog that leads them to install most or
all of the connectors they'll need". Is the Marketplace currently in a
state where my assumption is valid?

Thanks.

There are no plans to publish m2e connectors to eclipse.org
    <http://eclipse.org>, eclipse
legal process does not allow this. You can publish them to eclipse
    marketplace, however.

                     Subject: [m2e-users] m2e 1.2 is released

This release adds ability to store build lifecycle
        mapping
                     configuration
in workspace preferences as well as handful
        bugfixes and other
improvements [1]. Big thank you goes to Andrew
        Eisenberg for
                     driving
                     implementation of workspace lifecycle mapping.

The new release is already available from p2 repository
                     specified m2e
download page [2] and Eclipse Marketplace. It will
        also become
                     available
as part of Juno SR1 due end of next week. Full release
                     version is
                     1.2.0.20120903-1050.

Is it possible to update to this, or is it necessary to
uninstall the plugin and reinstall? When I tried to
        update, I
                 got the following:

Cannot complete the install because of a conflicting
        dependency.
