Yes, I have seen that. I was wondering if there is any documentation
that actually makes sense. That is a guide for developers of extensions
- it in no way resembles a primer for on what connectors are, why they
are needed, or how to best use them.

As I recently completed the Sonatype courses for Maven, and they were
exceedingly good courses, when we got to the part on connectors the
instructor tried to gloss over them and could not adequately answer my
questions about them.

Currently the only reasonable documentation I have found is
http://grumpyapache.blogspot.com/2011/08/mess-that-is-m2e-connectors.html but
that really only explains why they are bad and not why they are
necessary or how to use them properly.

As I look around the web all I can find is people complaining about
connectors - and there seems to be no actual defense of connectors.
