Unless you or anyone else is willing enough to basically reimplement the whole update/refresh process taking into account certain limitations of eclipse (you can't change locks while the job runs, for instance), I think this will remain as is.
We'll see. IMO, this would be a major benefit for Eclipse performances in general, and it would make the import I'm working on taking seconds when it takes minutes now and support the Cancel operation smoothly.
Is there already an enhancement request filed on this topic or should I create a new one?
