[m2e-dev] Regression in m2e 1.2

Igor,

I strongly believe the fix for the regression found in  https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=388254 (default ~/.m2/settings.xml not picked up on clean workspace) deserves a new m2e 1.2 RC respin.

I believe most users (in an enterprise environment or not) use custom settings.xml and that bug breaks a lot of stuff when using either clean workspace or workspace not having already manually defined  or reloaded the user settings :

- lose custom repositories

- break mirroring

- break server authentication

- redownload the internets for user defining a custom local repo

...

Even though the workaround is trivial (reload user settings in the preferences), that information will probably be missed by a majority of users and will cause major spikes of complaints on the ML. Unecessary 1st-level user support is something we (Red Hat) 'd like to avoid, from a 3rd party adopter perspective.
