| Re: [location-iwg] Presentation for the upcoming meeting. |
Message sent from mobile device on vacation caveats aside, I'll add in my praise for Cesium.
Of all the browser-based, open source, 3D globe clients, Cesium shows the most promise.
While I can't speak for the potential to grow a boarder developer community, AGI clearly have the engineering talent to develop a highly functional globe client. If they can engage others in Cesium development, they'll have a sustainable project.
Personally, I'm excited about the potential for an OpenLayers adapter for Cesium (or, in the future, a Cesium renderer for OpenLayers). On its own, Cesium has a ton of value. Paired with OL, Cesium deals in all standard/common protocols and formats and provides a virtual globe.
I look forward to hearing how the presentation goes.
