Re: [libra-dev] Status Update

Hi,

Here is the status update for the last month. There a few things that worth mentioning.

Indigo. We are ready to release. Everyone can do final testing by taking one of the Indigo RC4 packages [1] and install the OSGi Bundle and WAR Products feature from the Indigo Staging p2 repository [2]. The latest RC4 bits are not yet transported to the Indigo Release p2 repository. It’s also worth reviewing the New & Noteworthy release notes [3].

@Holger, how about adding some more info and screenshots for the WAR Products feature?

Indigo Maintenance. I created some more Target Milestones in Bugzilla: 0.1.1 for the Indigo SR1 release and 0.2 for the Juno development. If you need to fix a bug for 0.1.1 then you need to push it to the “indigo” branch in Git. You will also need to do the same in the “master” branch where the Juno development takes place.

Initial Contribution. Eteration contribution (Framework Support) is already in Git [4]. Well done! I see new Git experts in the Eteration committers J

@Zina, how about the IBM contribution? Do you need help with Git about this?

Signed build. Yes, we have it. Thanks to the efforts of Chris Anyszczyk and Dave Carver [5].

Hi,

Wondering what’s new this week? Here it goes.

Indigo. Our M7 stuff is available on the Indigo Staging p2 repository [1]. M7 will be declared officially tomorrow.

Initial Contribution. CQ 5007 is also approved! Hooray! We have all the initial contributions passed the IP review successfully. I think it’s time to get all the source code into Git. Please, IBM and Eteration committers, push your code into the “master” branch in Git. Don’t worry about messing our Indigo delivery – we have new “indigo” branch for our Indigo version (see next). If you have any problems with pushing your code to Git, let me know.

Indigo Maintenance. I created a new “indigo” branch in Git for our Indigo delivery. This is motivated by the fact that the CQs with post-Indigo features are now approved and it’s time to get all the code into the “master” branch and start consolidating the different code bases. The original “libra” Hudson job will remain building the “master” branch. There will be another “libra-indigo” job for the “indigo” branch. It will be ready in the next hours.

Signed build. No progress. But other projects facing the same issue developed some new helpers. I need to take a look.

Greetings,

Kaloyan

Hi,

Here is the next portion of project status update.

Indigo. We are moving towards M7. I am going to prepare the Libra 0.1 M7 build tomorrow – it contains only few bugfixes compared to M6. If anyone needs to include a change for M7, let me know.

Initial Contributions. CQ 4993 [1] is now approved. Well done! The code can now be checked into the Git repository. I will send another mail with instructions how to do this. I need to first create a branch for our indigo release.

Signed build. Still in progress [2]. Any help here is highly appreciated.

Hi,

I would say there is nothing new since last week, so just a short update mail.

Initial Contributions. CQ 4993 [1]  and CQ 5007 [2] are still in awating_committers status. Committers, please have a look at them.

Signed build. Still In progress [3]. I could not find time to work on this.

Hello,

Here is the status update for the last three weeks. I was on business trip for two weeks and could not dedicate the time for the weekly status update. Sorry about this.

Just to remind, if anyone needs a phone call to discuss any topic, please do request this explicitly.

Initial Contributions. There is some progress in both IBM’s (CQ 4993 [1])  and Eteration’s (CQ 5007 [2]) initial contributions. They are now both in “awaiting_committer” status. Please, let the respective committers do the necessary actions to satisfy the requests of the Eclipse IP team.

Indigo. We successfully released milestone 0.1 M6 as part of Indigo. Libra features can be installed from the p2 repository of the Indigo Release.

Ramp Down Policy. Done [3]. As a subproject of WTP, Libra will use the WTP Ramp Down Policy.

Signed build. (Still) In progress [4].

New & Noteworthy for M6. Done [5].

EclipseCon. I had the pleasure the present the Libra project on EclipseCon 2011 [6]. Feedback was warm. The Libra project was mentioned in a few other sessions, too.

Hello,

Like the previous week nobody raised topics for the status call. Therefore, I think it is good to send a mail with the current project status. However, If anybody needs the call today, let me know.

Committer provisioning. The “new committer” process for Zina is now complete and she has all the necessary committer rights.

Initial contributions. Zina triggered the process for IBM initial contribution with CQ 4993 [1]. Murat did the same for the Eteration initial contribution with CQ 5007 [2]. Zina, Murat, thank you for driving this forward.

Indigo. The Planning Council approved Libra to join the Indigo Release [3].

Project Plan. Done [4]. If anyone needs to add or remove items from the project plan, follow the instructions in bug 338129 [5].

Ramp Down Policy. In progress [6]. Please state your opinion.

Signed build. In progress [7].

New & Noteworthy for M6. In Progress [8].

Subject: [libra-dev] Status Update

Hello,

I’d like to share a status update on the Libra project. I don’t think we need a call today for this, so I preferred just to write this mail. Nevertheless, if anyone feels that there is a need to discuss something on the phone, just let me know and we will have the weekly status call.

Joining the Indigo Release. Our request has been approved by the WTP PMC on the March 1st, 2011 meeting [1]. I’ve sent the request to the Eclipse Planning Council [2]. The request is also in the agenda of the Planning Council meeting for today [3]. The Planning Council must vote to approve the request. Once I know the result I will send another update.

Problem with provisioning Zina as committer. We have moved forward on this topic. After some more paperwork we are now waiting for the webmaster to complete the process for Zina.

Target Milestones in Bugzilla. We now have the necessary Target Milestone in Bugzilla for Indigo [4]. All bugs should be targeted accurately from now on.

Web site. The SAP team prepared an initial version of the Libra web site [5]. It is nothing fancy or special – we are definitely not masters in web design. We will continue improving it and we will appreciate any help on this topic: adding more content, tuning the site layout and design, etc. If you want to help, please use bug 338209 [6] to coordinate efforts.

Project Plan. I am currently working on this. It will be ready soon.

IP Log. Done [7].

Registration in the Babel project. Done [8].

Ramp Down Policy for Indigo. Not started.

Signed Builds. Not started.
