Re: AW: [jwt-dev] Eclipse Summit Europe 2010 Call for Papers Now Open

Hi Alain

Thanks for your feedback.

You're right about the future, and I'd like us to try to find some time to push it further before September, which is a deadline I believe (Eurostar ?).

And you're also right about the customer not wanting to talk about it now, but I'm pretty sure it'll be ok by then.

Regards,
Marc

Hi Guys,

I agree with you about focusing on real world and "lessons learned and concrete experiences". I'm wondering if we could express also some ideas for the future, around our discussions and slides shared with Bernhard, a couple of months ago.
A concrete example around JWT + Scarbo would be very fine indeed, and Marc, I guess that this problem of "right" is related to your relationship with your customer ?

Cheers
Alain

Hi Florian, Chris

I didn't do a lot either, besides using it !

I think focusing on "real world" uses and experience would be very fitting for a 1.0 release !

I hope I''ll have then the right to talk officially about our JWT / Scarbo reference that is being used in production right now (that we've already talked about in Solutions Linux 2010, but without mentioning its name, see in French at http://www.slideshare.net/mdutoo/sl2010-soaopen-wideouvrir-son-siv11 ).
 * We'll also have some feedback on the use, and on how to do in the real world things like workflow / SOA evolutions but also how JWT & BPM fits there (limitations / improvements), on how to synchronize the workflows with runtime business data typed by a (meta)model.
 * In order to make it more interesting for other Eclipse people, we could maybe give it a flavour "integrating Eclipse technologies in the Entreprise Information System".

About our other users, still got no feedback since my last mail.

Semantic technologies or other uses cases could still be interesting obviously. So maybe that would be 2 talks, something like : "workflows (with SOA) in a real world" and "workflow modeling use cases"... ??

Finally, a talk bout the build system is a big topic and will surely interest a lot of people, just like our EMF-oriented talks have this year. Do you have anything that could give this topic an interesting twist, Chris ?

Regards,
Marc

Hi Chris,

I'd love to be at ESE once more, see some talks and maybe present an own
one. But I didn't do a lot in the last few months for JWT...

Maybe I could show a use case of JWT: automatic planning of process models
supported by semantic technologies? That would be worth a try...
Do we have other user stories we could combine that talk with? How about
Scarbo or any other projects you have been working on, Marc? Additionally, something about methodologies in the automotive area (Benni)?
How about the tools that have been developed on top of JWT from Mastek?
Maybe they would like to share some of their experiences...?

I'm not sure whether to have one talk to show all these things combined
(Real world workflow modelling) or whether to have one talk for each of
these topics... Opinions?

Chris, concerning your work as release engineer of JWT, maybe you have some
insights about the new build system you would like to share with others? Any other ideas?

Best regards,

Florian

Dear Eclipse Committers and Members

_Eclipse Summit Europe (ESE) 2010_
<http://www.eclipsecon.org/summiteurope2010/> will be held November 2-4
in Ludwigsburg Germany. We hope many of the Eclipse committers and
members plan to attend.

This year we are planning for another very strong technical program of
talks, tutorials and symposia. We would like to encourage Eclipse
committers and employees of Eclipse member companies to submit session
proposals. If you are interested in submitting a proposal for ESE, the
_Call for Participation_
<http://www.eclipsecon.org/summiteurope2010/submissions/?page=submissions>
is now open. We have organized the Program Committee and the program
into 5 categories: 1) Embedded, 2) e4, 3) Modeling, 4) Runtime and 5)
Other / New & Noteworthy. As always, the Summit will provide many
opportunities to get in touch with your peers, committers and everybody
else from the Eclipse ecosystem, may it be in the breaks, at the poster
receptions or in the BoF's.
If you want to follow new submissions at twitter you might want to
subscribe to _@EclipseESE_ <http://twitter.com/EclipseESE> For tweets
regarding ESE just use #ese

The deadline for submissions is August 16, 2010.

We look forward to welcoming you again in Ludwigsburg.
