Hi,
My name is Kyle Johnson and I’m a developer on a product that consumes Eclipse 4.2 and EGit 4.5. A customer recently raised a defect to me involving this ssh issue with GitLab
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=529463 , which was fixed in JGit 5.0. JGit 5 doesn’t support Eclipse 4.2 and the customer experienced issues when they tried installing it anyways, so I was wondering if I could clone JGit and reapply the fix
from that bug into my local copy of 4.5, then create a feature patch to send to that customer.
I wasn’t sure if you support multiple versions of JGit, and I was hoping to provide a fix as soon as possible, so I thought it’d be a good idea to offer to fix the issue myself. My only question was regarding the EDL license and its stance on modification/distribution
of code, and how this case fits into that.
Thanks,
Kyle Johnson
