At the behest of Chris Aniszczyk in a reply to me on Twitter, I've put together a patch to get Jgit capable of working with Hudson's git plugin - serialization of a number of classes is needed for this, and we may end up needing more down the road, as I rewrite the git plugin to really take advantage of Jgit over the command line tool. For now, I just modified the classes that were needed to switch from the patched version of Jgit 0.4 that has been used in the git plugin. I've pushed this change to Gerrit (http://egit.eclipse.org/r/#change,880) and attached the patch as well - if I borked any of this in the process, please let me know. Thanks!

That's a great idea, looking into your change soon :-)

Pushing contributions to gerrit is preferred since this eases review.
